Veterans Services
The mission of the Veterans Service Committee is to honor and support our nation's veterans through meaningful programs and personal engagement. We strive to raise awareness of veterans' needs and demonstrate our appreciation for their service and sacrifice. As Elks members, we commit to being visible advocates for veterans in our communities, ensuring they receive the respect and assistance they deserve while embodying our pledge that "So long as there are Veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them."

Adopt-A-Veteran
The Adopt-A-Veteran Program connects Elks members with veterans who may be lonely or isolated in VA facilities, nursing homes, or community living centers. By providing regular visits, social outings, and personal support, we create meaningful relationships that improve veterans' quality of life. Lodges can adopt individual veterans or entire facilities, making this program scalable to any level of involvement. Through these personal connections, Elks members demonstrate our unwavering commitment to those who served our nation and reinforce our pledge that "So long as there are Veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them."

Program Details and Activities
The Elks National Veterans Service Commission (ENVSC) represents our organization's unwavering commitment to serve those who have served our country. Since 1946, our motto "So long as there are veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them" has guided our extensive efforts to support veterans and military members throughout our state.
Through the dedicated work of our state committee and local Lodge volunteers, the ENVSC provides direct support and meaningful engagement to veterans in VA medical centers, veterans' homes, and communities across our state. Our comprehensive program includes:
Adopt-a-Veteran initiatives providing friendship and support to lonely or isolated veterans
Welcome Home kits for previously homeless veterans transitioning into permanent housing
Recreational activities and social events at VA facilities and veterans' homes
Holiday gift distributions and remembrance programs
Freedom Grants funding Lodge projects that address veteran employment, homelessness, healthcare, and education
Playing Cards for Veterans program providing entertainment for hospitalized veterans
Stand Downs offering essential services and supplies to homeless veterans
Volunteer support at VA medical centers through VAVS Representatives
The ENVSC's work is supported by both the Elks National Foundation and the generous contributions of our members who volunteer their time, talents, and resources to honor our nation's heroes. Our state committee provides guidance and resources to local Lodges to enhance the effectiveness of their veterans service activities.
Veterans of all eras, from WWII to our most recent conflicts, benefit from the Elks' commitment to serving those who have served. Our adaptable programs evolve to meet the changing needs of today's veterans while maintaining our tradition of gratitude and respect.
