Youth Activities Committee Member

A sub-committee of the Activities Committee that promotes and oversees programs benefiting the youth of the community, implements youth programs of the Lodge, State Association, and Grand Lodge, and may manage The Antlers of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks youth organization (G.L.S. 13.021(c)).
Key Responsibilities
Youth Activites is a sub-commitee of the Activites Committee.
According to Section 13.021 of the Grand Lodge Statutes, the Activities Committee:
Implements the Drug Awareness Program and Hoop Shoot® Program at Lodge, State, and Grand Lodge levels
Supervises all Lodge activities of civic, social, and community interest
Develops at least one program solely identified as Elks-sponsored within the Lodge jurisdiction
Promotes, supports, and oversees youth programs including The Antlers organization
Implements all youth programs of the Lodge, State Association, and Grand Lodge
Develops community projects that emphasize the charitable works of the Order
The Activities Committee serves as the primary driver of the Lodge's community engagement and youth-focused initiatives, ensuring the Lodge maintains visible charitable and civic presence in its jurisdiction.
Leadership
This committee provides valuable leadership development through focused expertise in a specialized area of Lodge operations. This committee role allows members to develop project management skills, learn to work effectively with diverse groups, and gain experience in planning and executing Lodge activities. The Chair's responsibility for coordinating committee members and reporting to the Lodge develops communication and organizational abilities that translate well to future service in higher Lodge positions. This specialized focus helps build the member's reputation within the Lodge while contributing meaningfully to its mission and goals.
