Hattiesburg Lodge Assists with Camp Bluebird

Camp Bluebird, sponsored by Forrest General Hospital, is in its 29th year of operation, as an event for adult survivors of cancer. The Hattiesburg Elks have been a supporter for the last 10 years, mostly providing a Bingo game for the participants. That effort has been headed by Hugh McGowen, and this year they did Bingo for 140 participants. Walter Hearn provided Pontoon Boats Rides for 60 participants. Several other Elks were there to help. The Elks Magazine has acknowledged that they will run a spot in their September magazine on our efforts in this very worthy event.
